EDIT: THIS JUST IN! I received an E-mail from Nintendo saying that I made the top 50!! :D :D Expect to see this piece at the symphony of the goddess concert on September 12th!

EDIT 2: You can see my work at Nintendo's official YouTube page on this video (around 6:20 min): www.youtube.com/watch?v=uX_17N…

Some of you may know that I've entered the Wind Waker fan art Contest that was hosted by Nintendo that ended on September 2nd. As of writing this, they haven't decided on the winners. However, I decided that I could probably post it now since Nintendo is no longer accepting entries, and therefore, I should be safe post this drawing without it being entered by someone else during this time. Just as well, nobody else should have access to this drawing. Thus making this the origin place for its public viewing.

Anyway, the contest is all about the Wind Waker. The top 5 winners win a Wii U, along with the HD remake of Wind Waker, and their drawings are published in different Nintendo related Medias. Just as well, the running up 50 contestants get their art works shown on the big screen at this year's symphony of the goddess concert being held in Seattle for thousands of people to see. This gave me an excuse to draw something again, as I've been putting off doing any kind of artwork over the summer because my summer job was too physically demanding for me to actually discipline myself to sit down and make something creative. It was too straining. But at this point, I was finished working for the summer, and I decided to use this to get myself going again (though school will get in the way of future drawings for a while).

This was drawn in roughly 21 hours over the course of 3 days in Photoshop CS5. Personally, I really liked the sailing aspect of the game, as well as the game's general setting. The world was huge with lots of places to explore and islands to see, and even the ocean was dynamic. It had enemies to keep it from getting too boring, sunken treasure, and even weather that changed. Anyway, I enjoyed making it even though drawing the ocean was a pain to figure out (I just ended up squiggling it out with a hard brush). I hope you enjoy looking at it!

This is beautiful. Love the water, the sky and pretty much everything else.
Congratulations on that contest stuff, this picture deserved it. :)
